Preschool Summer 2008 Fun

This summer LOL Christian Preschool will be trying something new and different.  While the "big kids" get to go off to day camps, sports, camps and lots of other fun activities to enjoy, our preschoolers don't always have the same number of option available to them.  We are trying to eliminate that by offering a few one-week session of half-day preschool activities.  Our preschool staff will be here to provide a week of themes activities Monday through Friday.  The classes will be offered to 16 children per session.  The children in each group will range from three (as of March 31st) to five years of age and must be pottery trained and self sufficient in the restroom in order to attend.  The classes will be filled on a first come first service basis.  The registration will be open to the public, so if your child has a friend they would like to have join them for a week of preschool fun, encourage them to register as well.  The class fee is due at time of registration and no refunds will be given unless we are able to fill the spot created.  If we receive an overwhelming response for enrollment, we will then offer an afternoon class for each of the sessions.  Registration has begun.  For more information call the preschool at 779-3499.

Goals for the Program

At Lord of Life Christian Preschool we recognize the importance of early childhood years.  We understand a parent's desire to enrich his or her child's development and prepare them for the days ahead.  Our goal is to let your child's first school experiences become special memories to be cherished and to be used as foundation for a positive outlook toward learning.  This part time program offers a caring environment, which enhances your child's academic and social skills while building your child's self esteem within a play - based atmosphere.  Our program strives to provide a stimulating social setting in which children can develop emotionally, intellectually, physically, socially and spiritually.  We offer a balance between structured and non-structure activities in which active learning takes place through hand-on discovery and is facilitated by the use of developmentally appropriate material by teachers trained in early childhood education.

Pre-K Curriculum

Our play-based curriculum is built upon the use of learning centers which will revolve around various themes throughout the year.  In order to provide a curriculum that bridges the gap between a four year old program and Kindergarten, without repetition and varied enough to maintain the children's interest, a large portion of our curriculum will revolve around exposure to other cultures as we take a "world tour" throughout the winter and spring of the year.  During this time the children will have the opportunity to learn about other countries and have relevant and meaningful classroom experiences while singing songs from far away places, cooking and tasting foods that they may have never heard of before, and playing games that children from around the word play.
